Testimonials

“Finca Las Nubes was a wonderful experience for our entire family. We traveled with two young girls, ages 4 and 7, and the staff was more than accommodating and loving to the girls. We all felt very safe and had a peaceful, relaxing week. The food was delicious, from the lasagna to the intricately prepared fish kabobs and chocolate torte. Thanks to Ada Luz’s touch, we were very well-fed.

We also wanted to thank Javier for driving us all over the country and city and making recommendations for us to see. We felt very safe in his care and very welcomed by the staff. It’s not only the country, it’s the people who give those warm feelings to leave with.” – Eric & Jill Miller

“We had a marvelous time at your place in San Juan del Sur. What an amazing place you have created. Your homes are beautiful; the views to die for. The wait staff is extremely competent and hospitable. Adaluz is fantastic with her Nica menu. Our girls, the picky eaters, still talk about her great meals. It seems that we talk about Nicaragua and Finca Las Nubes everyday. We would love to come back for spring break in April. We would also like to see if some other families would like to come as well. Thanks for the most memorable Thanksgiving ever.” -Kelley

“This was an absolutely exquisite property that I would highly recommend to anyone considering visiting Nicaragua. Complimented by the most lovely people I’ve ever met that served as staff for the house. From the moment they met us, (with open arms) they treated us as if we were family. My family from Morgantown WV, St. Augustine FL, and myself from Atlantic City NJ, all met here over the Christmas season of 2006 and had the best vacation holiday ever! It is a beautiful country with beautiful people. There was not one moment I felt concerned or worried about my safety. With even a remedial knowledge of the Spanish language, you can get around, meet the locals and find what you might need. Obviously, the more Spanish you know the more immersed you’ll find yourself in the culture. Being able to introduce yourself, ask people their names and basic conversation skills will get you a long way in a country full of such eager, hardworking and proud people. Built by a person that has a great love for the country, its people, its ecology and its future, Casa Sueno real far exceeded my expectations. Not just accommodations for the week, but a home away from home.” -Shane

“Our family has been at Finca Las Nubes for two weeks. We will definitely be back! Adaluz and her family, as well as Juan, were all very welcoming, they made us feel very much at home during our stay. Adaluz and Juan were more than willing to make whatever we wanted for every meal. They clearly put a lot of time, effort and thought into every thing they made. We especially appreciated the way they added Nicaraguan food to many of the meals. Adaluz even gave us cooking lessons at one point! We had many interesting discussions about Nicaraquan politics and Los Nicaraguense with both Adaluz and her husband. Adaluz was also very enthusiastic about teaching Spanish! The house was a peaceful oasis to come back after a long day of learning Spanish and teaching English. Thanks to everyone who made this a wonderful holiday for us!” -Mona, Allan, Natasha, Jesse & Riley

“Thank you, Adaluz for your wonderful cooking it made us feel strong and healthy. You made us feel very welcome. Javier, you are a great man, you made us feel very safe, we would have been lost without you. Thank you, Maria and Juan for keeping everything in order. How can we go home? We are so spoiled now. The meals were exceptionally good, and the hospitality wonderful. Adaluz made extra effort to create special meals for Clint’s diet. Minus a few miscommunications, Javier is such an easy going senor to spend the day with, patient and humorous. Jose and Maria Elainna were also great. Too bad we couldn’t speak more Spanish to get to know everyone better. Next time! Our time in the clouds was truly heaven and all the staff our guardian angles. It was a pleasure to spend this short time with all of you here on the farm in the clouds. Chris, keep the dream alive!” -Jen & Clint Tarala

“We can’t say enough wonderful things about our stay at Finca Las Nubes. The staff was warm and generous- not to mention extremely attentive. The house was spectacular and the view was breathtaking. This was our first trip (but not last) to Nicaragua and our stay here was a perfect way to introduce us to the country. We hope to be back! P.S. We might have gained a few pounds because of the delicious food!” -Tracy Jensen and Jonathan Cooperman

“We spent Thanksgiving week here in Finca Las Nubes. We had a wonderful time on the farm. The food was incredible! We loved Nicaragua and all it had to offer. It was great that it wasn’t very touristy! We also loved Juanito and all the other monkeys that we heard! Thanks to everyone! Adaluz for the wonderful food. Fernando for his great service, and Lydia for everything- translation! Javier, for the skillful driving, and everyone else who made our stay wonderful. We had a great time and will remember it always!” -Alexis Kuchinsky, Jim Rowe, Robin Haessler, Sean Kelly, and Mark Wessel, New York, New York and Philadelphia

“We had the most fantastic time in Nicaragua!! The house is beautiful, and we fell in love with the country and the people. Achilles and Loamni were very nice and helpful. What a wondeful adventure! Thank you so much for the opportunity to stay in your gorgeous home.” -Peter

“We stayed at an eco-friendly, all inclusive home in the hills overlooking San Juan del Sur. This was probably one of the most awesome vacations of our lives. I suppose this was truly a vacation. Most of our vacations are marathons to see how much history, art, and views we can cram in. At Casa Buena Onda we were not permitted in the kitchen, laundry, or near any cleaning equipment. There was even a driver provided for our daily jaunts. We simply were expected to relax and enjoy ourselves. The Nica food even satisfied our two young children who are picky eaters. The price was right, the service charming, the weather ideal, the views stunning, and the accommodations beautiful. The definition of relaxation while not hurting the environment.” -Kelley
