Charcoal

We make thousands of pounds of charcoal every year. Its not for barbecues, we use it as part of our organic fertilizer known as Bocacci. Charcoal is an integral part of the bocacci mix because it adds essential minerals which help the plants grow faster and resist diseases.

These are the steps to make charcoal:
– Get lots of dry wood
– Dig a big hole on the ground
– Fill it with as much wood as you can
– Cover wood with vegetation
– Cover everything with dirt
– Light up the wood under the dirt and let it burn for a few days
Four days later…
– Gently remove top layer of dirt
– Avoid mixing dirt with charcoal
– Spread charcoal and water it to stop burning process
